After having spent the prior 14 years at FBT Gibbons (previously Frost Brown Todd) in Louisville, Kentucky, including the final three years as an equity partner, Tommy Gleason founded Gleason Legal in 2026 in order to pursue an entrepreneurial goal: building his own practice—leveraging the efficiencies now available to lawyers and clients through a variety of AI tools—with a strong commitment to personal service, dedicated advocacy and legal excellence.
Tommy brings a strategic, thoughtful, and deliberate approach to his work. He takes time to understand each client’s business, priorities, and long-term objectives before developing a plan. Whether addressing a difficult dispute or an everyday legal concern, his goal is to help clients understand their options, focus on what matters, and move forward with confidence.
Commercial Litigation
Tommy’s litigation experience encompasses a broad range of commercial disputes, including corporate governance and ownership conflicts, commercial real estate litigation, commercial finance disputes, noncompete and trade secret claims, business disputes including allegations of fraud and financial misconduct, and fiduciary-duty claims. He also regularly advises owners and operators of senior living facilities in litigation and pre-litigation matters.
Tommy enjoys working through difficult problems that require careful analysis, a long-term perspective, and a deliberate strategy. At the same time, he recognizes that not every matter calls for the same level of investment. He approaches smaller disputes with an eye toward proportionality, helping clients distinguish consequential issues from distractions and keeping the legal response aligned with the business objective.
Business and Advisory Services
Through Gleason Legal, Tommy also offers outside general counsel services and advice on business formation, corporate governance and structure, risk assessment and avoidance, and succession planning for multigenerational businesses and ownership groups, as well as assisting with general commercial legal needs that may arise for his clients. He offers flat-fee services for certain projects and substantially reduced hourly rates for qualified nonprofits. His aim is to help clients address immediate needs while building a sound foundation for future decisions, transitions, and growth.
Tommy founded Gleason Legal to build a practice centered on personalized service and lasting client relationships. He wants to be the attorney clients turn to not only when a dispute arises, but also when they face an important decision, need a sounding board, or want to plan for what comes next.
Accessibility and trust are central to that approach. Tommy wants each client to know that he will make time. He works to provide clear guidance and steady support so clients can spend less time worrying about legal issues and more time attending to their businesses. He also founded the firm with an interest in thoughtfully using technology, including AI tools, to support efficient service while keeping personal attention and professional judgment at the center of the relationship.
